Thank you very much for your continued support of GUTS-MAN.
Japan has entered the onset of a full-fledged winter.Isn't the coldness from your feet making it more and more?
When we think of "cold sensitivity," we often associate it with women. But actually, many of our male customers who use GUTS-MAN should be aware of "peripheral cold sensitivity" in their feet!
"Peripheral cold sensitivity" refers to a condition where the hands or feet, especially the toes, feel cold even though the overall body temperature is normal.
Interestingly, this condition is also common among men, many of whom are not even aware that they have peripheral cold sensitivity.
The reason is that men typically have more muscle mass, making it harder for them to recognize the sensation of cold in them.
Today, we'd like to introduce "wool socks" as a winter footwear care option, highlighting their features, details, and recommending some GUTS-MAN socks for you!
First, let's briefly touch on the characteristics of wool as a material.
As you can see from the characteristics of wool mentioned above, it is an ideal material for socks during the cold winter months.
Now, let's go into more detail about the features of wool.
The first key feature is "Moisture Retention."
The ability to resist dampness is closely tied to the comfort of wearing socks.
Thanks to their excellent moisture absorption and breathability, wool socks can surprisingly absorb the moisture from your feet, even when they sweat, and release it outward.
Because of their superior moisture retention, wool socks are especially popular in winter.
It’s uncomfortable to wear socks that are warm but sweaty, isn’t it?
The great thing about wool socks is that they can prevent this kind of sweat.
In addition to warmth, wool socks also have the benefit of a "deodorizing effect."
This is because the natural fibers themselves have a deodorizing effect, often referred to as the "ultimate fiber" nurtured by nature.
Other natural fibers with deodorizing effects like wool, include cotton.
However, while cotton is effective at deodorizing acetic acid odors, it is not as effective for ammonia odors. In contrast, wool is known to be effective against both acetic acid and ammonia odors. This is why it is referred to as the 'ultimate fiber.'
However, wool does have its disadvantages.
One of them is that it is "sensitive to washing," which is a common issue with socks.
Particularly, shrinkage caused by high temperatures or friction can significantly affect the comfort of the socks.
Especially, please avoid using a dryer.
When washing in a washing machine, place the socks in a mesh bag to prevent friction, and be sure to air dry them in a well-ventilated area.
Gutsman also offers wool socks as part of our collection.
And now, they are also available for purchase on Gutsman Global, our international website!
