An Event Report in Nara: The Shōsōin Exhibition

Today, we’d like to introduce an event held in our company's home prefecture of Nara.

One of Nara’s most popular events is the Shōsōin Exhibition.

This special exhibition showcases the precious treasures preserved in the Shōsōin Repository. It is held every autumn, and each year, the selection of artifacts is carefully curated to provide an overall understanding of the collection, featuring items that reflect the latest research findings or have particular historical interest.

This year, the 77th Shōsōin Exhibition opened on Saturday, October 25.

Among this year’s exhibited treasures is the Ruri no Hai (Lapis Lazuli Cup) shown in the photo above.

This design is also featured in one of our other brands — Naramaki, a Nara-born belly warmer brand by our company, separate from GUTS-MAN. During the exhibition period, our “Naramaki Meccha Usui Haramakii” (super-thin belly warmer) is available for purchase at the special museum shop Tenpyō, located in front of the museum.

The items available for purchase are the Naramaki “Meccha Usui Haramaki” (Super-Thin Belly Warmer) featuring embroidered designs of Ruri no Hai (Lapis Lazuli Cup) and Oyako Shika (Parent and Child Deer).

This year’s Shōsōin Exhibition runs until Monday, November 10.
If you visit Nara during this period, we warmly invite you to stop by the museum or the shop.

(Please note: GUTS-MAN socks are not available at this venue.)

The exhibition is located within Nara Park, so you’ll also have the chance to see many of Nara’s famous deer!

They’ll be delighted if you offer them shika-senbei (deer crackers), so please take a moment to enjoy their company.
